FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Most questions will be answered as you fill out your registration. Here are the most common:

"Are there any fees?"

No.

"Can colleagues use my log in?"

No. This, we regret to say, will result in immediate termination of your account.

"I have no position but am interested in finding one."

Point that out in your registration. You will be very attractive to those looking for sabbatical replacement or institutions with a permanent or temporary position in need of filling.

"I qualify for 4 departments but I can only register for 3. What do I do?

Each registration is permitted maximum of 3 departments. You need to submit a completely new registration if you qualify for more than 3 departments. Each require separate a E-mail address. All registrations are free.

"I only want to exchange homes and vehicles for a vacation."

You are not alone. Just point that out as you complete your registration.

"I qualify for a teaching and administration position - can I indicate that?

You will need to register for TEACHING POSITION and for NON-TEACHING POSITION. Both are free.

"Can I bring my children?"

You will have to ask your children. Just kidding. Applicants indicate if they wish to bring or allow children.

"Can I bring my pets?"

Check with that country's regulations plus indicate that when you complete your registration. All applications indicate if they are willing to permit pets.

"How do I make sure there will be no smoking in my home?"

All applicants indicate if they require a home they can smoke in. AND whether or not they permit smoking in their home.

"I want to be in a specific place for specific dates. Will you please arrange that?"

Sorry. We provide networking only. Indicate specifics in your registration. This is common.

"My school/library has never done this sort of thing. I love the idea. How do I convince them?

"Whom do I contact for information on traveling to another country?"

Please see the TRAVEL TIPS link and then discuss the exchange directly with the administration of the institution you are interested in.
