"It's never too late to have a happy childhood." - Tom Robbins
There is no reason those of us who wish to temporarily return to education or those of us working part time should not be able to take advantage of this unique opportunity. You will be pleasantly surprised to discover how many colleagues are either going on Sabbatical or unpaid leave and need someone to cover for them.
A few possibilities if you are retired:
- You fill in for someone on Sabbatical. You provide your home, office space and any support allocated by the institution you retired from. They are paid by their home institution and you are paid the prevalent wage of staff covering for those on Sabbatical.
- You fill in for someone on Sabbatical. You provide your home and they are paid by their home institution and you are paid the prevalent wage of staff covering for those on Sabbatical.
- Whatever arrangements the two of you come up with that your administrations will support.
A few possibilities if you are both on Sabbatical:
- You exchange homes, vehicles, office space and any support allocated by the institution you work with. Each is paid by their home institution according to the terms of your Sabbatical.
- You exchange homes and vehicles only. Each is paid by their home institution according to the terms of your Sabbatical.
- Whatever arrangements the two of you come up with that your administrations will support. This is essentially for colleagues on Sabbatical that wish to research/live/travel elsewhere without the added cost of housing while away.
A few possibilities if you are unemployed, part time, adjunct, visiting or a recent graduate - and what a superb source of networking!
- You exchange homes and vehicles. You are paid by the institution that brings you in and your exchange partner either goes on a paid leave, Sabbatical or unpaid leave.
